Glass sculpture inspired by nature. Louisa Sullivan creates sculptural glass artworks that celebrate colour, light and simplicity of form. Individually cast, fired and hand finished in her Surrey studio, each piece is a unique work of art. Inspired by nature and her fine art background, Louisa explores the relationship between organic shape, movement and material, creating pieces that invite closer observation.

Every sculpture begins as a hand-sculpted clay form, carefully shaped before being cast in glass. Layers of rich colour and finely worked textures catch and reflect the light, giving each piece a remarkable sense of depth and luminosity. The delicate lace pattern encircling the pear hints at hidden beauty beneath the surface, rewarding closer observation. No two sculptures are ever the same, with subtle variations making each piece entirely unique.

Recent work is inspired by the ever-changing colours of sea and sky. My cast-glass pears celebrate the expressive qualities of glass through colour, light and form. Layers of coloured glass are assembled within handmade moulds, kiln-fired to create subtle gradients of blue and green that shift with the surrounding light. Working with the natural rhythms and imperfections of the material, each piece reveals delicate air bubbles that add depth and movement. The result brings a contemporary interpretation of a familiar fruit!
